Job Summary
Middle School Science Teacher needed to plan and deliver NGSS-aligned instruction across life, earth, and physical sciences, design and lead hands-on labs and investigations, build students' science literacy, use formative and summative data to drive instructional decisions and interventions, foster a collaborative classroom culture, maintain a safe and stocked lab, collaborate with the science team to align curriculum and assessments, and communicate with families about student progress. The role includes weekly professional development and coaching with an academic coach, within a Bridgeport, CT setting at Great Oaks Charter School. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a science discipline, Science Education, or a related field
- Connecticut teaching certification in a science endorsement or Middle Grades Science, or an active pathway toward it
- Strong content knowledge across life, earth, and physical science topics
- Experience designing and managing hands-on lab experiences
- Classroom management instincts grounded in relationships and high expectations
- A collaborative spirit and the willingness to be coached
