Job Summary
Teach assigned subject matter using LRSD Curriculum Guides and Board-adopted courses while integrating STEM concepts and inquiry methodologies into daily instruction. Plan, prepare, and deliver active learning experiences that employ questioning and discussion techniques to engage students, utilizing technology to support the curriculum. Establish a culture of learning by managing classroom procedures, organizing physical space, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures. Communicate effectively with management, families, and staff while maintaining accurate records and using data to inform instruction. Perform other related duties as assigned during the nine-and-one-quarter month contract period.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university teacher education program
- Arkansas teacher's license appropriate for level and/or subject area assignment
- Competence in the total teaching experience demonstrated in the submission of an electronic portfolio that highlights designing coherent instruction, the use of questioning and discussion techniques, engaging students in learning, and the incorporation of technology in the classroom
- Relevant teaching experience
- Working knowledge of relevant technology
- Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period
- Must be physically present and at assigned work
- Only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write
- Occasionally must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds
- Accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception
- Ability to handle and work with educational materials and/or objects
- Ability to provide oral information
