Job Summary
Dual assignment: Principles of Technology Teacher and Girls Coach at Laura Bush Middle School. Provide instruction in the core academic subject area and coach student-athletes to develop skills for competition, while ensuring UIL compliance and fostering student growth. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, ESL certification within six months, CPR/First Aid/AED, and a Texas CDL with P and S endorsements. Responsibilities include developing and implementing lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum, employing diverse instructional strategies, assessing student learning, collaborating with special education staff on IEPs, planning activities for student athletes, sponsoring extracurricular activities, managing classroom and athletic programs, coordinating travel for out-of-town events, maintaining equipment and records, and adhering to district safety and UIL rules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Current first aid, CPR, and AED certificate
- Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- ESL Certification required within six months of employment for elementary and secondary core teachers
