Job Summary
Middle School Principal - Leave Replacement to lead a ~350-student middle school, overseeing instructional standards, providing feedback to teachers, ensuring effective discipline and climate, coordinating scheduling, grading, and transcripts, and partnering with parents and the community. Requires a Master's Degree and NJ Principal/Supervisor certification, strong instructional leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to navigate legal requirements and complete background checks. Reporting to the Superintendent; anticipated start in Oct 2026. Anticipated daily rate emphasizes a negotiated rate based on experience; located at David Brearley Middle School in New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited or approved institution
- Valid New Jersey Department of Education certification as a Principal and/or Supervisor
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience at the middle school and/or high school level (preferred)
- Knowledge of middle school and/or high school programs, curriculum, instruction, student supports, and school operations
- Ability to serve as an instructional leader and support effective teaching, learning, assessment, and professional growth
- Outstanding communication, collaboration, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, administration, and the school community
- Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70)
