Job Summary
Middle School Math Teacher responsibilities include delivering math instruction aligned with the district curriculum, developing and implementing lesson plans, and adapting instruction to diverse learning styles. The role requires presenting material per Texas Education Agency guidelines, employing varied instructional strategies, and assessing student learning to plan subsequent activities. Collaboration with special education staff to modify curricula for IEPs, supervision of teacher aides/volunteers, and use of technology to enhance learning are expected. Additional duties include facilitating parent conferences, maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and the community, participating in staff development, complying with district policies, and supporting extracurricular activities as assigned. The position emphasizes classroom management, measurement of student growth, and accurate record-keeping and reporting as part of ongoing professional responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year student teaching or approved internship
