Job Summary
Teach foundational middle school math concepts (ratio/proportions, expressions/equations, the number system) using the in-house CCSS-based Math curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities. Differentiate instruction based on student data during weekly meetings with the principal or instructional coach, build positive relationships with students and families, and participate in weekly school-wide meetings, mentorship, and professional development to foster student achievement in an urban setting. The role emphasizes collaboration with grade-level teams, a commitment to social-emotional and academic development, and leveraging math expertise to support student growth and college readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (teacher certification not prerequisite for consideration)
- final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if graduated prior to 9/1/16
- All instructional staff are required to become certified in the state of New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment
