Job Summary
Deliver direct instruction in middle school math across whole-class, small group, and individual settings while implementing integrated projects and the Core Knowledge Sequence. Manage lesson planning, assessments, and data disaggregation to drive standards-based instruction for all students. Maintain compliance with Individualized Education Programs, Section 504 Plans, and FERPA regulations while fostering family partnerships and community engagement. Utilize manipulatives and technology tools to support student exploration and problem-solving within a student-directed classroom environment. Contribute to school committees and assist in special project execution as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Indiana State Teaching License or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in field of education
- Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer
- Must be able to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
- Must be able to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone
- Must be able to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone
- Must have physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
- Must be able to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead
- Must be prepared to work evenings, weekends, and any additional hours necessary to accommodate activities such as committees, fundraisers, public meetings, and representing the organization at public events
Desired Qualifications
- Prior successful full-time education experience in a similar setting
- Proficiency in technology
- Prior experience in charter schools
- Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization
