Job Summary
Part-time Middle School Math Teacher delivers instruction aligned with the Archdiocese of Washington Academic and Religious Standards in a Catholic middle school setting. Responsibilities include planning lessons, using assessment data to differentiate instruction, delivering a balanced program of instruction with direct, guided, and differentiated activities, administering assessments, maintaining classroom management and a positive learning environment, fostering Catholic identity, communicating with parents, and performing non-instructional duties such as supervising activities and participating in meetings. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and current Maryland, Virginia, or DC teaching certification, with certification to be obtained within three years of hire; on-site duties with part-time hours (12pm-3pm, Monday–Friday). Must maintain adherence to Archdiocese standards and Catholic values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Current teacher certification in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC (candidates have 3 years from hire to earn their certification)
- Must obtain Maryland, Virginia, or DC certification within three years of the date of hire
- Knowledge of child development and supervision
- Experience teaching in an elementary school setting (preferred)
