Job Summary
Plan and implement hands-on lesson plans while diagnosing student needs to provide appropriate instruction. Utilize varied instructional techniques to meet individual student needs and assess progress using approved Diocesan procedures. Maintain a safe, orderly classroom climate through effective management and accurate record-keeping of academic and attendance data. Monitor students during testing environments and maintain professional relationships with parents via conferences and communications. Participate in school meetings, activities, and the Diocesan Catechist Certification Program. Keep up to date on current technology used by Diocese Catholic Schools and perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college that is recognized as acceptable for Florida certification
- Professional Certificate in subject area taught
- Faith Fit Enrichment Certification in Levels 1, 2, and 3
- Appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings
- Ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Strong command of both written and spoken English language
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar
- Ability to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form
- Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work
- Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds)
