Job Summary
Design and implement standards-based lesson plans for grades 6–8 aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards. Create a supportive classroom environment that differentiates instruction for students with IEPs, 504s, and English learners. Use assessment data to inform targeted support and incorporate technology and real-world connections to enhance engagement. Collaborate with grade-level teams on interdisciplinary learning and communicate regularly with families regarding student progress. Participate in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities as needed. This in-person role at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas requires extended periods of standing and walking in an active classroom setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Valid Nevada teaching license or eligibility to obtain one with appropriate middle school endorsement
- Strong content knowledge and understanding of adolescent development
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and speaking
- Moderate physical activity includes bending, reaching, and moving instructional materials
- The ability to maintain a structured and supportive classroom climate for adolescent learners
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more years of successful middle school teaching experience
- Experience in a charter or STEM-focused school environment
- Familiarity with project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and student-centered instruction
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
