Job Summary
Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum to meet unique student needs through individualized and small group sessions with at-risk populations. Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and administrators to coordinate Tier 2 interventions, oversee RTI data collection, and monitor student progress. Educate parents on instructional strategies and provide guidance to staff on identifying students requiring additional support. Ensure implementation of the RTI instructional system to increase student achievement while maintaining a professional home office environment for this full-time virtual role. Travel up to 20% of the time for professional development and student testing.
Required Qualifications
- South Carolina Department of Education Middle School (5-8) Math Teaching Certification
- Residency in South Carolina
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday
