Job Summary
The Middle School Literacy Instructional Coach will lead instructional leadership and coaching focusing on literacy, requiring development and execution of a strategic coaching plan, conducting classroom observations, and providing actionable feedback. Responsibilities include supporting teachers in planning standards-aligned lessons, analyzing literacy data for instructional adjustments, and facilitating professional development on literacy practices. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in ELA teaching, literacy instruction expertise, and a commitment to scholarly achievement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of successful ELA teaching experience (middle school preferred)
- Strong track record of scholar achievement in literacy using past academic achievement data
- Deep expertise in literacy instruction, writing instruction, adolescent literacy development, and classroom culture
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as an instructional coach, ELA team lead, or teacher leader
- Experience implementing high-quality instructional materials in ELA
- Prior work in high-performing or charter school settings
