Job Summary
Middle School History Teacher at Uncommon Schools. Facilitate student-led discourse, guide analyses of primary and secondary sources, and teach an in-house curriculum that centers diverse histories and equity. Build inclusive, safe classrooms, differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners, and collaborate weekly with principals, instructional coaches, families, and grade-level teams to set goals and support student achievement. Responsibilities include data analysis of student work, maintaining a culture that supports students’ social-emotional development, and contributing to ongoing professional development. Requires a bachelor’s degree; NJ certification eligibility requirements must be met. Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $85,000, with comprehensive benefits; in-person positions across multiple locations (Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, Rochester).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (certification not prerequisite)

- 1-2 years experience in urban schools preferred
