Job Summary
Middle School History Teacher at Kairos Academies in St. Louis, MO. Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned World History, U.S. History, Geography, and Civics units; facilitate project-based learning, DBQs, debates, simulations, and performance tasks that connect past events to contemporary issues. Use MAP, NWEA, and internal assessments to differentiate instruction and close achievement gaps; maintain gradebooks and provide frequent, actionable feedback on student writing and discussion. Serve as a Kairos “Coach,” mentoring a pod of students weekly to build executive functioning, goal-setting, and personal accountability; foster an inclusive classroom culture; communicate with families about progress. Collaborate with content teams, participate in coaching cycles and professional development, and contribute to school-wide improvement through service roles (e.g., Tutoring Lead, Assessment Coordinator, Safety Lead). Compensation follows the Teacher First model (Professional: $60,000; Advanced: $70,000; Exemplary: $80,000) with a $1,500 signing bonus for 2025-26. Benefits include health/dental/vision, PTO, professional development and tuition assistance, wellness reimbursement, and reimbursement for graduate coursework. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Missouri Substitute Certification, and 3+ years of middle school teaching experience preferred; Missouri Teaching Certificate (Social Studies 5–9) preferred, with eligibility to obtain upon hire. On-site role at Kairos Academies, St. Louis, MO; schedule Monday–Friday with occasional evenings/weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, Political Science, or related field
- Valid Missouri Substitute Certification
