Job Summary
Plan, organize, and conduct practices and games for middle school girls volleyball squads A, B, and C. Teach fundamental skills and strategies while fostering a team culture focused on respect, discipline, and academic excellence. Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and travel, ensuring their safety and well-being. Maintain equipment inventories and coordinate scheduling, transportation, and facility use with the Athletic Director. Communicate regularly with players, parents, and administration while mentoring assistant coaches. Uphold the school's mission to promote character development within the Cheyenne and Crow community. Submit a resume, letter of interest, and references to the Human Resources Department in Ashland, MT.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience coaching or playing volleyball, preferably at the middle school or high school level
- Understanding of and ability to teach the rules and fundamentals of volleyball
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor student-athletes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass a background check and meet all school employment requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Native American youth or in a culturally diverse setting
- Knowledge of MHSA rules and middle school athletic league policies
- MHSA coaching certification or ability to obtain prior to season start
