Job Summary
Middle School Head Boys Basketball Coach responsibilities include providing instruction, leadership and supervision for the school’s basketball program; conducting practices emphasizing teamwork, skill development, and adherence to rules; academic monitoring with teachers and counselors; supervising players before, during, and after practices and games; managing equipment and inventory; modeling high standards of sportsmanship; completing paperwork (rosters, physicals, insurance, parent consent); collaborating with the Principal to sustain a solid program; pursuing professional growth through clinics and publications; overseeing all aspects of player development, fundraising, program promotion, and coordinating with an assistant coach.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year college degree
- MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course
- Sports First Aid Courses
- Strong commitment to student-athlete concept
- Knowledge of sport philosophy & coaching
