Job Summary
Lead practices, games, and team events while modeling Christ-centered faith, sportsmanship, and character development for student-athletes. Plan skill-building sessions, coordinate team calendars, and manage logistics including apparel, releases, and competition schedules. Draft weekly communications, recruit volunteers, and organize community service opportunities alongside school spirit initiatives. Collaborate with the Athletic Director and Head Coach on season planning and program needs. Demonstrate athletic skills and drills as required by the sport.
Required Qualifications
- Clear profession of faith in Jesus Christ
- A discipling approach to coaching and athletics
- Alignment with Denver Christian School's athletic philosophy and mission
- Demonstrated knowledge of the sport through playing and/or coaching experience
- Ability to model Christ-like character, professionalism, and leadership to students and families
- Ability to meet all employment requirements outlined in the Denver Christian School Employee Handbook
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during practices and competitions
- Ability to demonstrate athletic skills and drills as required by the sport
- Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience
- Varsity-level coaching experience
- Experience mentoring or discipling students in a faith-based educational or athletic setting
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills
- Clear, professional communication with students, families, and colleagues
- Organizational skills and attention to operational details
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
- Emotional maturity and consistency under pressure
