Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while accommodating individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and technology to support diverse learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instructional adjustments. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development. Direct the work of assigned instructional aides and volunteers while overseeing completion of assigned tasks. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal. Establish open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members. Comply with state, district, and school regulations, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
