Job Summary
Coordinate and supervise all physical education and athletic programs on the middle school campus, leading the program for all grade levels in a safe environment. Facilitate communication between coaches, the administrative team, and the district athletic department while collaborating with high school coaches on feeder patterns. Assist in hiring coaches, assign supervision responsibilities, and formally evaluate staff using the CFISD Athletic Evaluation instrument. Ensure compliance with UIL and district policies, verify athlete eligibility, enforce student discipline, and maintain equipment inventories and facility conditions. Oversee staff CPR/First Aid/AED certification and perform administrative duties as assigned by the principal. This 187-day probationary term contract includes a Teacher Classification T60 salary and athletic stipend.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teacher certificate
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and strategies
- Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and regulations
- A minimum of three (3) years of coaching experience in a formal educational setting
- Experience as a coach in more than one sport
- Positive teaching experience in Kinesiology or other teaching fields
- Demonstrates leadership in working with diverse students, staff, families, and communities
