Job Summary
Plan and organize instruction to promote social, physical, and academic growth in an elective spot at the middle school. Provide effective instruction using varied strategies, assess student progress, and maintain records while communicating ongoing growth to parents and the community. Organize the classroom environment to maximize learning and incorporate technology to enhance teaching. Interpret student data and demonstrate effective communication with students, guardians, and the school organization. This 50% teaching position requires a valid Indiana teaching license, current CPR certification, and proficiency with digital tools like GradeBook and Power School.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year college or university degree
- Valid teaching license with required level certification
- Certification by the State of Indiana in teaching area(s)
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents or employees of the school organization
- Ability to effectively communicate through technology
- Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts appropriate for grade level content required
- Ability to read, interpret, and display data
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in digital, written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to use the following machines, tools, equipment, and work aids: computer, pen; pencil; pointer; Promethean Board; projection equipment; public address system; tape recorder; charts; diagrams; examinations; manuals; maps; publications; reference books; textbooks; technology; DVD player, CD player, internet, internet sites, email, student data management sites such as GradeBook and Power School
