Middle School English Teacher for IOTA Community Schools in Memphis, TN. Responsibilities include designing and delivering standards-aligned English instruction, developing and submitting weekly and long-range lesson plans, using data to monitor pupil progress, providing accommodations and interventions, maintaining classroom management and student supervision, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, sponsoring student activities, and supporting school initiatives. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a Tennessee teaching license (or transferable license) with the potential to pursue a Practitioner pathway if not licensed; no H1B sponsorship. Compensation includes a salary range of $53,000–$75,250 plus a signing bonus up to $5,000 and a comprehensive benefits plan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate content endorsement to teach or valid out-of-state license transferable within 90 days, or on track to certification in Tennessee
- Possibility to qualify for Practitioner license while completing graduate coursework (EPP program)
