Job Summary
Teach middle school courses in English and Social Studies while leading an advisory. Foster a classroom environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of young women by building culturally responsive instruction that fosters belonging. Collaborate with other middle school teachers to plan curriculum, cross-curricular enrichment, and support student learning. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community while maintaining appropriate records and integrating technology. Maintain an active commitment to enhancing the school community through committee involvement and student life activities. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in English or Social Studies education or general education
- experience at the middle/secondary level

- Teacher preparation program completion or certification
- Strong commitment to inquiry-based learning and laboratory investigations
- Knowledge of best practices and strategies to effectively engage students from diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills among students
- Familiarity or experience teaching with Common Core or State ELA and/or social studies standards
