Job Summary
Teach Middle School English Language Arts online as the teacher of record for an Ohio public online school. Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conference, differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, monitor progress in asynchronous courses, provide daily feedback and grading, track student progress, and produce Progress Reports in collaboration with the Principal. Manage course setup in the Learning Management System, communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth, and integrate 21st-century technology into daily practice. Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities and attend in-person state testing events several times per year. Travel to support required face-to-face testing annually. Maintain current Ohio teaching license, knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards, and ability to pass background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Experience teaching (preferred two years)
- Ability to collaborate with Principal to create Progress Reports of Students
- Experience with or ability to use Learning Management System
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
- Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time
- Ability to supervise students in all school settings
- Experience working in multi-cultural settings (preferred)
