Job Summary
Middle School ELA Teacher responsible for delivering an inclusive, culturally responsive ELA curriculum; guide students to analyze literary and non-narrative texts, assess author’s purpose, and write across genres; foster a safe, inclusive classroom culture and engage in student-led discourse; analyze student work weekly with principal/coach to differentiate instruction; build positive relationships with students and families, and participate in weekly school-wide meetings, mentorship, and professional development; required to have a bachelor’s degree and meet NJ certification eligibility; 1-2 years experience in urban schools preferred; compensation between $56,000 and $80,000, with benefits and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (teacher certification not prerequisite)
- 1-2 years experience preferred in urban K-12 settings
- Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Willingness to become NJ-certified within a reasonable period after starting employment
