Job Summary
Middle School ELA Teacher responsible for delivering an inclusive, culturally responsive English Language Arts curriculum. Responsibilities include guiding analysis of literary and non-narrative texts, fostering student discourse, supportingReading comprehension, and promoting student voice. Collaborate weekly with principal/instructional coach to analyze student work and differentiate instruction; engage in school-wide meetings; build positive relationships with students and families; participate in mentorship and coaching sessions; contribute to a culture of equity, high expectations, and continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Teacher certification is not a prerequisite for consideration in NYNJ; must meet NJ certification eligibility requirements (final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if you graduated prior to 9/1/16)
- 1-2 years experience preferred in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities
- Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
