Job Summary
Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to deliver an inclusive, culturally responsive curriculum, guide students in analyzing texts and writing across genres, and foster a safe classroom culture. Responsibilities include data analysis with the principal/coach to differentiate instruction, building strong relationships with students and families, participating in weekly school-wide meetings and professional development, and supporting students’ social-emotional and academic growth. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and NY certification eligibility, with a pathway to NY certification; experience in urban education and collaboration with internal/external partners is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- New York State certification eligibility requirements (enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher if not educated in teaching)
- Ability to obtain NY state teacher certification within a reasonable period after employment
