Job Summary
Uncommon Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher responsible for delivering a culturally responsive, inclusive ELA curriculum, guiding students through literature analysis, writing, and discourse; analyzing data to differentiate instruction; fostering a positive, collaborative school culture; partnering with families and instructional teams; and engaging in ongoing professional development to support urban middle school students' academic and socio-emotional growth. Responsibilities include instruction, data analysis, and school culture activities, with a focus on equity, visibility of student voices, and alignment to NJ certification eligibility requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (teacher certification not prerequisite)
- 1-2 years experience in urban K-12 education preferred
- Experience teaching Middle School English Language Arts (ELA)
- Academic background in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related field
