Job Summary
AMS is seeking a passionate, data-driven Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using AMS curriculum frameworks. Responsibilities include differentiating instruction, using formative and summative data to drive instructional planning and interventions, building foundational skills in reading and writing (and mathematics), establishing a structured, high-expectations classroom with PBIS, supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development, and collaborating in weekly professional development and grade-level teams. The role also emphasizes family engagement through parent-teacher conferences and strong home-school partnerships. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree or AZ teaching certification in a relevant subject, with SEI endorsement preferred; strong classroom management, collaboration, data-driven mindset, and commitment to Title I and multilingual communities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field OR Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area
- SEI Endorsement or completion of 45 hours of SEI training (preferred but not required)
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
- Pass required background checks and obtain IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindset
- Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment
