Job Summary
Middle School Dean of Students position at Urbana Middle School with responsibilities to lead and support the administrative team in promoting student achievement and positive behavior. Responsibilities include directing restorative discipline, coordinating MTSS, analyzing attendance and behavior data, mentoring staff, communicating with families, maintaining student records, leading School Improvement Team efforts focused on SEL and attendance, and overseeing disciplinary conferences and conversations with parents. Required skills include collaboration with teachers and administrators, data-driven decision-making, strong organizational and communication abilities, and a commitment to equity in the school community. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, Illinois teaching license, and at least 3 years of teaching experience; a master's degree and Type 75 Administrative License are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required
- Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in teaching
- Illinois Teaching License (valid)
- Experience with MTSS and restorative practices is preferred
- Master’s Degree is preferred
- Type 75 Administrative License preferred
