Job Summary
Maintain district facilities by cleaning floors, whiteboards, windows, furniture, and restrooms while keeping sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat. Operate cleaning equipment and power tools, including floor buffers, vacuums, and lawn mowers, to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs. Monitor HVAC systems for temperature control and energy efficiency, and manage cleaning supply inventory. Assist with lunchroom setup, special events, and daily opening/closing procedures to ensure safety protocols are followed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Clear and valid Kansas driver's license
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
- Requires the ability to frequently use power tools and equipment, including but not limited to a floor buffer/stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, other hand tools, shampooer, lawn mower, edger, and weed eater
- Requires the ability to frequently stand, sit, kneel/squat, bend/stoop, push/pull, or twist
- Requires the ability to lift and carry heavy items (45 lbs. and over) daily
- Requires the ability to frequently walk, climb stairs/ladders/scaffolding; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching
- Requires the ability to work both outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, on and around vehicles and machinery with moving parts
- Requires the ability to frequently work with exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration; exposure to chemical and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts
- Requires the ability to maintain emotional control while under stress and in stressful situations
- Requires timeliness and regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job
