Job Summary
Middle School Computer Science Teacher & Audio Visual Tech Integrationist role combining instruction in text-based programming for 7th and 8th grade, collaboration across Preschool–8th, and hands-on tech-space leadership. Teaches yearlong courses in Python, HTML/CSS, and/or JavaScript; supports IDEA Lab design challenges and school-wide tech integration; leads cross-continuum projects, coordinates the Tech Assembly Crew livestreams, and mentors students in debugging, iteration, and digital citizenship. Role includes 25% CS instruction, 40% AV integration, and 35% IDEA Lab support, with emphasis on differentiating lessons, fostering inclusivity, DEI/SEL integration, and cross-disciplinary collaboration using tools like Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Education or a related field such as Engineering or Instructional Technology
- Proficiency in at least one text-based coding language (e.g., Python or JavaScript)
- Experience teaching middle school learners
- Ability to design hands-on, project-based learning experiences
- Familiarity with audio/visual technologies and livestreaming
- Experience supporting interdisciplinary tech integration across grade levels
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to digital citizenship and ethical technology use
