Job Summary
Supervise athletes before, during, and after practices and games while enforcing school conduct codes and athletic policies. Instruct team members on wrestling fundamentals, rules, and conditioning programs under the head coach's direction. Manage locker room safety, equipment inventory, and facility maintenance, including securing doors and checking cleanliness. Coordinate with parents regarding eligibility, disciplinary actions, and grievances through proper administrative channels. Assist in planning in-season and out-of-season conditioning, attending staff meetings, and scouting assignments. Complete the required VHSL coaching education test and maintain accurate team statistics and records.
Required Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma
- Valid Virginia Driver's License
- Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
- Must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field
Desired Qualifications
- Successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Valid Virginia Teaching License
