Job Summary
Middle School Boys Soccer Coach leads one middle school boys’ soccer team under general supervision, with practices twice weekly (Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00pm–4:30pm) and matches typically between 2:30pm–6:00pm; responsible for game strategy discussion with coaching staff, conducting player evaluations during tryouts and mid-season reviews, driving player development via program core competencies, creating age-appropriate practice plans with the athletic staff, teaching fundamentals and skills, ensuring athletes’ health and safety, articulating a coaching philosophy in collaboration with the Varsity Head Coach, using developmentally appropriate coaching methods, emphasizing sportsmanship and leadership, clear communication with players, parents, administrators and staff, motivating athletes and promoting teamwork, directing off-court curriculum, attending required meetings/trainings, and complying with school policies; must be able to work with diverse students, handle multiple duties, and stand for long periods. The position requires a High School diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field preferred) and coaching experience at the Middle School level; First Aid/CPR certification is required or willing to obtain.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field from a four-year college or university preferred
- Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching soccer required
- Recent successful coaching experience in a Middle School environment preferred
- Must possess or be willing to obtain valid First Aid/CPR card
