Job Summary
Assist the Head Coach in leading a safe, organized athletic program at Willcox Middle School. Coach individual student-athletes to improve skills and performance in basketball; actively supervise students during practices, games, travel, and overnight stays; assist in planning regular practice sessions; provide input on game schedules in coordination with the head coach and Athletic Director; recommend purchases of necessary equipment and maintain inventory of sport-specific gear. Ensure a safe practice and competition environment, comply with Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) regulations, uphold eligibility requirements, and promote respect, integrity, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth among student-athletes.
Required Qualifications
- Employment as a teacher or support staff preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge, enthusiasm, and aptitude for coaching student-athletes
- Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered by the Governing Board as appropriate
