Job Summary
Middle School Administrative Assistant (full-time, year round) supporting West Campus operations and the Integrative Studies Department at The McGillis School. Reports to the Middle School Director and collaborates across two campuses to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities include providing front-office support, answering phones, coordinating attendance, early dismissals, and field trips, organizing supplies, troubleshooting equipment, administering basic first aid and medications, updating logs in Veracross, monitoring security and communications, and supporting substitute teachers and I.S. activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates warmth, initiative, organizational and multitasking abilities, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work with a diverse community of students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide administrative support to West Campus and Integrative Studies Department
- Coordinate attendance procedures, dismissals, field trips, and bus reservations
- Assist with safety drills, first aid, and medication administration
- Support substitute teachers and cross-campus coordination
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn Veracross and various school systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Flexible and collaborative team-oriented mindset
- Commitment to school mission, inclusivity, and professional conduct
