Job Summary
Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications using .NET, cloud, and related technologies while ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness. Collaborate with project leaders, product owners, and developers to define, design, and ship new features, translating business requirements into technical solutions. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems, offering end-user troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance. Stay current with .NET trends and best practices to continuously improve the codebase, fix bugs, optimize performance, and participate in code reviews. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, implementing unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure code quality. This remote role reports to the Technical Technology Lead, supporting the global maritime industry's digital transformation through classification and compliance services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 6+ years in commercial development
- Technical expertise in .NET and object-oriented programming
- Proficiency in Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Experience with microservices, distributed architecture, GraphQL, REST APIs, event buses, and message queues
- Understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Understanding of client-server architecture and asynchronous programming
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL (MS SQL Server, MongoDB), Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Excellent communication, teamwork, detail-oriented, and analytical skills
Desired Qualifications
- Equivalent practical experience or certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, .NET certifications)
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with modern development practices
- Experience with front-end technologies (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and modern DevOps practices
- Experience with AWS/Azure cloud environments
