Job Summary
Lead credit support for a large, complex commercial loan portfolio by analyzing financial data, making formal recommendations to Relationship Managers and Credit Administration, and overseeing a team of Underwriters to produce complete loan packages. Develop and implement credit programs and processes to ensure timely, accurate assessment of loan and portfolio risk; make loan decisions within lending limits or escalate as needed. Manage portfolio risk within risk rating guidelines, monitor collateral values and valuation methodologies, and oversee annual loan reviews. Coordinate with appraisal, environmental, and legal teams to facilitate collaboration in the decision and documentation processes. Maintain compliance with bank regulations, policies, and required training, while fostering customer relationships and contributing to Columbia Bank’s culture and growth. May coach, mentor, or train others and share expertise as a subject matter expert. Travel occasional; primary onsite location in Encino, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or related field (preferred)
- Master’s Degree in Business/Finance or related field (preferred)
- More than 10 years of senior credit approval/commercial lending and/or underwriting (required)
- 7-10 years supervisory/management experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of lending, underwriting, and banking regulations
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and analytical abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software
