Job Summary
Middle Level English/Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for grades 5–8, responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary; fosters an engaging, inclusive classroom; uses formative and summative assessments to monitor progress; integrates technology to support literacy and communication; collaborates with colleagues on curriculum and district initiatives; communicates with families about student progress; maintains SC certification and adheres to district policies; position is full-time for the 2026-2027 school year with a typical 190-day calendar.
Required Qualifications
- South Carolina certification in middle level language arts/English
- Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices
- Familiar with educational technology tools
- Strong classroom management skills and a growth-oriented mindset
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License or ability to provide own transportation
- May be required to travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
- Prior to beginning employment, negative tb test results must be provided
