Middle Level English/LA Teacher (2026-2027 School Year)

Plan and teach standards-aligned English/Language Arts to middle-level students (grades 5–8), focusing on reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. Develop and deliver engaging lessons; guide students in analyzing texts across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and informational sources. Teach the writing process from planning to publishing; provide constructive feedback to support reading comprehension and writing growth. Use assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction; integrate technology to support literacy and communication. Create an inclusive, positive classroom culture; communicate regularly with families; collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum, analyze data, and support school initiatives. Engage in professional development and stay current with ELA instructional practices. Must hold South Carolina certification in middle level language arts/English. Requires ability to travel to district activities as needed and to meet physical demands of classroom instruction.
