Job Summary
Performing Arts Teacher for middle and high school. Responsible for planning, instruction, activities, and assessments aligned with SLCS curriculum; foster inclusion-based learning; collaborate with colleagues to address diverse learning needs; teach theater, music, and related arts disciplines; ensure student growth in creativity, performance skills, and appreciation for the arts; requires PA teaching certification (or eligibility letter); IB MYP/DP experience considered a plus; supports a safe, diverse learning environment and participation in required background checks and drug testing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Music, Performing Arts, Theatre or related field
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification in Music K-12 or Theatre Endorsement
- Prior experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP and/or DP programs a plus
- Background in performing arts disciplines
- Understanding and commitment to inclusive learning
- Strong researching, planning, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with MS Office and Google
- Applicants who do not yet have their PA teaching certificate may upload the official College Verification of Eligibility Letter, which states you have successfully completed the program and are eligible for certification in lieu of the PA teaching certification document
