Job Summary
Middle Backend Engineer role at Global Fashion Group THE ICONIC focuses on building and maintaining scalable backend services for leading fashion e-commerce platforms. You will write and maintain clean, well-tested code and deploy microservices using infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD (Bamboo). You will work on distributed systems at scale, collaborate to build/maintain RESTful APIs in a Kubernetes-based microservices architecture, and leverage cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). Key skills include PHP/NodeJS/TypeScript, unit testing with Jest/PHPUnit, SOLID and design patterns, relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL), Docker/Kubernetes (including EKS), and DevOps practices (QA automation, monitoring, CI/CD, IaC). The role requires fluent English and the ability to collaborate across timezones, with a hybrid work setup in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Required Qualifications
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in PHP/NodeJS/TypeScript is a plus
- Experience in backend development and building applications in a major framework
- Understanding of unit testing and related frameworks such as Jest, PHPUnit
- Familiarity with agile and lean software engineering
- Understanding of SOLID principles, clean code, design patterns, testing
- Awareness of major cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure)
- Experience designing and integrating APIs - RESTful API
- Familiarity with RDBMS databases (MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres)
- Exposure to Docker in production (Kubernetes, EKS)
- Exposure to modern DevOps practices - QA Automation, Monitoring, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
- Exposure to automated deployments (CI/CD)
