Job Summary
Seamlessly integrate live-action shot layers by tackling shots from start to finish, including roto, tracking, paint, animation, and element creation. Extract mattes from blue/green screen photography and composite multi-pass CG elements to create photo-real shots while maintaining clean script organization. Pay strong attention to detail regarding color, color-space, and lighting. Communicate progress to Coordinators, Producers, Leads, and Supervisors in a timely fashion. This Mid-Senior Compositor role is based in Sydney, Australia, for Crafty Apes, a global VFX company specializing in photoreal effects for film and commercials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years ( Mid ) and 5 years ( Senior ) of experience as a compositor in episodic or feature VFX
- Must excel in tracking and blue/green screens comps
- Proficient in Nuke, Photoshop, Boujou/Syntheyes/Mocha, Primatte/Keylight/Ultimatte
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise, take criticism, and work under high pressure with short deadlines
- Preference for candidates that have unlimited work rights within Australia
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Shotgrid software preferred
