Job Summary
Mid Level Test & Evaluation Engineer responsible for supporting multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, systems, information systems, navigation, flight software, industrial, re-entry hardware, and flight termination systems) in support of the CPS program. Provides technical support for hardware/software testing, modeling and simulation, and flight-testing; supports the entire test cycle from test planning, security, execution, analysis, and reporting to ensure tests meet Weapon System Requirements. Involves development and execution of capability validation plans, oversight of contractor developmental testing, and preparation of studies, plans, and analyses for government test efforts. Requires access to Threat and Engineering data classified up to TS/SCI; US citizenship; ability to travel; and experience with creating scientific and technical reports and revisions to government documents. The role is hybrid onsite in Washington, DC near Navy Yard with occasional telework and requires active clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 5 years of professional/internship engineering experience OR Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of professional experience
- Active Secret clearance with ability to sustain Top Secret with SCI access
- US Citizenship
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong critical thinking to analyze information, identify biases, evaluate evidence and tolerate ambiguity
- Ability to travel up to 25% in CONUS
- Familiarity with engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Navigation, Guidance and Control, Telemetry and Instrumentation, Flight Software, Re-entry Hardware, and Flight Termination Systems
- Experience with DoE concepts and TEMP/TEMP-related activities
- Navy weapons and engineering experience
- DAWIA, INCOSE or similar certification a plus
- Security/engineering studies and reports
