Job Summary
Mid-Level System Engineer (SE2) at Belay Technologies in Columbia, MD, joining an intel team to provide SDLC support for the GATEKEEPER product and assist with building and managing product installations for DoD customers. Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and system engineers to support SDLC, system testing, validation, and performance tuning for production readiness. Ensure system compliance with security best practices and organizational standards. Communicate architecture and design concepts clearly. Leverage ICAM capabilities, and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and support procedures. Work cross-functionally to align system behavior with business and technical requirements. Maintain system monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively identify and resolve issues. Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS) and related tooling (GitLab CI/CD, RDS cloud databases, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation). Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph
- Ten (10) years of experience as a System Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
- Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree for a total of 15 years of experience
Desired Qualifications
- TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline
- AWS Foundational Level Certification
- Docker expertise, Kubernetes familiarity
- Terraform, CloudFormation (CDK)
- RDS and relational database experience in the cloud
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of ICAM capabilities and integration
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, product owners)
