Job Summary

Develop structural requirements and designs for Boeing's 787 wing and empennage using CATIA and Model Based Definition tools. Integrate analytical and test results to validate systems against Part 21 and Part 25 regulations. Manage supplier development, test, and production activities to optimize design and achieve program goals. Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and 3+ years in aircraft structural design. First shift, North Charleston, SC. Salary $105,750-$129,250.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft structural design
  • 1+ years of experience with design of composite structures
  • Prior experience with aircraft, heavy structures, hardware systems or interiors manufacturing/production systems
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working on wing or empennage structures such as Wing tips, wing leading or trailing edges, wing center section, wing box, wing join, vertical, or horizontal stabilizers
  • Expertise using CATIA and Model Based Definition (MBD) for primary structure design
  • Experience designing and qualifying composite primary structures, including laminate design, ply-drop strategies, and structural strength considerations
  • Hands on experience with fabrication of metallic and composite structures
  • Part 21 and Part 25 Code of Federal Regulations knowledge and experience interacting with Federal Regulators
