Job Summary
Mid-Level Structural Engineer for Schnabel’s dam engineering team. Responsibilities include performing structural analysis and design for dams, spillways, gates, and related hydraulic structures; producing construction drawings and technical specifications; developing structural models using finite element software (e.g., SAP2000, Risa 3D, Staad.PRO); applying applicable codes and standards (ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, IBC, USACE Manuals); collaborating with civil, geotechnical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineers; supporting construction submittals and inquiries; occasional travel; Seattle office collaboration with other Schnabel offices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline from ABET-accredited program
- 5+ years of relevant civil-engineering experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain reciprocity
- Experience in design of dams, spillways, gates, and related hydraulic structures
- Knowledge of dam safety design methodologies, policies, and regulations
- Proficiency with CAE/M modeling software for dam engineering
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel and oversee field work when needed
