Job Summary
Mid-Level Backend Spark Developer needed to design, develop, and optimize data processing solutions using Apache Spark. You’ll build scalable data pipelines and ETL processes, write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data platform solutions. Responsibilities include developing backend data processing solutions with Spark, performing code reviews, using Git for version control, and troubleshooting technical issues. Requirements include 1.5–2 years of professional experience in data engineering or backend software development, solid Java (or Scala/Python) proficiency, working knowledge of Apache Spark, intermediate SQL skills (ANSI Hive Spark SQL), and English proficiency at or above B2+. Nice-to-have experience with Azure Databricks, EMR, Cloudera, or BI tools like Power BI. This is a 100% remote role with the work location aligned to Spain time zone (CET/CEST). Required Qualifications
- 1.5 to 2 years of professional experience in data engineering, backend programming, or data-centric software development
- Solid knowledge of Java (or strong proficiency in Scala/Python)
- Experience with Apache Spark
- Intermediate SQL skills including ANSI SQL, Hive SQL, and Spark SQL
- Experience with Git and collaborative workflows
- English proficiency at least B2+
- Strong collaboration and analytical mindset
