Job Summary
Mid-Level Security Engineer at a nearshore IT partner role focused on designing, implementing, and refining security measures across cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), performing vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, leading incident response, and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to weave security into standards and practices; leverage tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Sentinel, Snyk, and Checkmarx to reduce risk, strengthen compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST), and enable fast, secure product delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or a related role
- Experience participating in incident response, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
- Strong knowledge of network security, identity and access management, and endpoint protection
- Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel), intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanning tools
- Hands-on experience with cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
- Familiarity with integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Snyk, Checkmarx)
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST)
- Nice-to-have: industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP (Associate), AWS/Azure/GCP Security specialty
