Job Summary
Evaluate terminal and modem performance certification reports through all phases of the certification process, generating engineering-based assessments to determine compliance with performance criteria. Provide guidance and recommendations to vendors or Government PMs to modify system designs for compliance, and review WGS and DSCS test procedures to recommend process changes. Support on-orbit testing, operational evaluations, and anomaly resolution while interpreting radio frequency characteristics to build models in the WSOMS Operational Management System. Maintain static databases, conduct long-term trending of satellite resources, and assist with mission planning using WSOMS. Requires 5 years of DoD SATCOM experience, a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, and 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of Department of Defense (DoD) SATCOM experience
- Knowledge of Wideband SATCOM systems
- Travel: 25 %
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor of Science or 5 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Military Standard (MIL-STD) 188-164B, MIL-STD 188-165A, Standardization Agreement (NATO) (STANAG) 4486, and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Standard EN302 307
- Knowledge of Wideband SATCOM, preferably transmissions and payload control and mission planning experience
- Knowledge of USASMDC Terminal Performance Certification and Modem Performance Certification
- Significant military familiarity and training in SATCOM
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in SATCOM principles, technical analysis, and problem solving
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
