Job Summary
Join WSP as a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer focused on mechanical piping and equipment for power generation facilities. You will design systems, prepare specifications, review vendor drawings, and ensure project compliance. Key responsibilities include participating in project development, maintaining quality control, conducting inspections, and preparing technical reports. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, relevant design experience, and certification as an Engineer in Training. Familiarity with engineering software and project management is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
- 5+ years of relevant post education experience in mechanical design for industrial facilities
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Working knowledge of Microstation or AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D or CADworx
- Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe
- Experience using Thermoflow
- Working knowledge of relevant mechanical system and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
- Project management experience with small to mid-level projects
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior members
- Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
- Power plant design experience
- Renewable natural gas plant design experience
